I grew up as a South African Indian in apartheid South Africa, into a marginalised society. My father encouraged avid debate and taught me share a meal how to speak truth to power by inviting guests of all different race groups over every Sunday to share a meal round our table. This birth in me the love for powerful questions and coaching at very young age. Later I become part of protest actions and boycotts in SA. This also enabled me to understand and become an anti-racist advocate.
I am passionate about Gender Equality and have lived experiences through GBV for over a decade. This translated into legacy work of Safeguarding where I remain an advisor on committees, as well as a Safeguarding investigator. A legacy project was the lead role in developing and leading on mandatory training across a large INGO. I currently remain a strong advocate for this topic and a narrator for the voiceless. My work in the GBV space is an inclusive approach to addressing corporate’s role in GBV and the systemic change that must happen
